We Have Now Seen The Unseeable: Astronomers Release First Ever Image Of A Black Hole

We have now seen the unseeable: astronomers release first ever image of a black hole

It's been a great year so far for space fans, with a partial solar eclipse, super blood moon eclipse and a Venus and Jupiter conjunction. Now there is another exciting development to look forward to: the first ever photos of a black hole. At the center of Messier 87, a super-giant elliptical galaxy, discovered in 1781 by the French astronomer Charles Messier, exists a super-massive black hole called M87. This all-consuming region of space-time is located more than 55 million light-years from Earth and is estimated to have a light-sucking core 6.5 billion times the mass of the sun. Black holes are made up of huge amounts…

July 2018, The Longest Eclipse Of The Century

July 2018, the longest eclipse of the century

Practically everyone in the world will see the longest eclipse of the century on July 27, on that night the full moon will presents the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century: it will last about four hours and be visible across wide swaths of the world including Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South America and the Middle East. The totality, or when the earth’s shadow covers the moon and creates complete darkness, will last one hour and 43 minutes. This lunar eclipse is primarily visible from the world’s Eastern Hemisphere (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand). South America, at least…

ITEA And ITEC Conferences Concludes On A Successful Note For Nurjana

ITEA and ITEC conferences concludes on a successful note for Nurjana

This month Nurjana took part in two important events in order to present some engineering results on two interesting topics. On Stuttgard, during the ITEC the international forum for the Military Simulation, Training & Education Community, we presented conference on a simulation tool to calculate trajectories for test missions. The Ballistic Predictor, a very flexible tool able to accommodate a very general, user-defined dynamic model, and to use it for ballistic simulations. Our tool is designed to be used in different applications such as Pre-Mission Analysis and Real-Time support. We are also in Las Vegas, at the ITEA Test &…

Tiangong -1: A Great Discovery Was Made!

Tiangong -1: a great discovery was made!

A great discovery was made! Indeed, it was taken the fleeing picture of the out-of-control Tiangong -1 Chinese Space Station that will fall to Earth within 30 days in an unidentified place. The picture was captured the 12th March while overflying Sardinia, using an astronomical telescope specifically adapted for the object’s tracking into low orbit. The observation was carried out through complex astrodynamics calculations made using the new software components of the Nurjana MMP suite dedicated to the Aerospace applications, implementing the innovative multi sensor data fusion technique for space debris monitoring and orbital determination. The test permitted to verify…

A Vodafone 4G Network On Moon

A Vodafone 4G network on Moon

A Vodafone 4G network, together with two Audi rovers, are going to land on moon by 2019.  What we know is that there are so many moon areas in which the phone does not get a signal now, but next year there might be a cell coverage. This private mission was conceived by a PTScientists team from Berlin: a group of scientists who have devoted their free time to this project. The PTS team are collaborating with Nokia and Vodafone about the 4G networking and with Audi to bring two Audi Quattro rovers and the ALINA (Autonomous Landing and Navigation…

What Are Brown Dwarfs?

What are Brown Dwarfs?

Brown Dwarfs are part of our Universe but they are neither planets nor stars. Well what are they? They are giant objects that do not shine of their own light; They have such a mass that is impossible to classify them into the planets category; They are not born to progressive accretion from a fizzy shell around a solid nucleus but they are born from a gravitational collapse of an interstellar cloud of gas and dust; They do not produce energy by hydrogen fusion; They are not stars because their mass it is not enough to activate hydrogen fusion; They belong to a system…
